Las Vegas is bugging out as swarms of grasshoppers have descended on Sin City.

It may look like a biblical plague, but the reality is the swarm is drawn to the area because of its climate.

Exterminator Josh James explained to Inside Edition that "what causing this infestation is high heat, low humidity, and a lot of breeding."

A rainy spring sparked an explosion in the grasshopper population.

Making matters worse, the bright lights of Las Vegas attract the bugs. So many of the insects have descended on the city known for its bright lights, hotels on the strip have switched off some of their signs.

While the grasshoppers do not sting or bite, they are gross to see in such large quantities.

"They were everywhere, like, swarming everywhere," one Vegas visitor told Inside Edition.

"They were just hitting us in the face, crawling in people’s mouths," said another.
