A Texas teacher is being hailed a hero after running outside to warn parents of danger heading their way — in the form of a tornado.

With her kimono blowing in the wind like a superhero's cape, Megan Parson, a fourth-grade teacher at Hays Elementary in Rockwall, Texas, was photographed making her mad dash to the parents.

The area outside Dallas was getting walloped by several tornadoes just as school was letting out last Wednesday.

The students were ordered to shelter inside, but many parents who were coming to pick up their kids were unaware of the violent weather.

Parson took off her shoes and ran barefoot to alert the parents to take cover as well.

The image of the teacher running to warn the folks has gone viral.

In a funny moment during the chaos, Parson said on Facebook, she didn’t realize she was wearing a fake mustache as she made the daring dash to help the parents. She had left it on from a school party earlier in the day.

“So, all parents see is this crazy girl running barefoot in the rain with a tornado in the background wearing a fake black mustache,” she wrote on Facebook. “No wonder they made me run all the way to their window before rolling it down.”
