The estranged husband of missing Staten Island teacher Jeanine Cammarata and his live-in girlfriend have been arrested and charged in her killing, officials said.

Michael Cammarata, 42, and Ayisha Egea, 41, who live together in an apartment in Queens, were charged Friday with second-degree murder, concealment of a human corpse and tampering with physical evidence, police said.

The charges are in connection to the death of Jeanine Cammarata, a mother of three who was last seen Saturday in the Staten Island neighborhood of New Springville, cops said.

The 37-year-old teacher was in the midst of a bitter divorce and custody battle with Cammarata when she vanished, a police source told InsideEdition.com. She was due in family court Monday for a custody hearing regarding her two children with Cammarata, the source said.

Jeanine Cammarata’s disappearance came less than two days after Michael Cammarata was served with divorce papers, her attorney, Eric Gansberg, told the Staten Island Advance

“She’s spent thousands of dollars getting a lawyer and getting him served,” her boyfriend, Aaron, told the paper. “This weekend he finally agreed to let her see the kids, and she goes missing that night.”

Cammarata has been held since Wednesday, when he was charged with assault, harassment and stalking his wife, police said. The charges stemmed from prior incidents involving the couple.

Then on Thursday, police investigating Jeanine Cammarata’s disappearance discovered charred human remains inside a Staten Island storage facility.

Authorities immediately believed the remains to be the missing woman, a source said.

Though police did not say how the remains were identified, the NYPD said in a statement Friday that “the missing has been located and pronounced deceased.”
