As the lyric in his hit song "Juicy" goes, "when I was dead broke, man I couldn't picture this."

The Notorious B.I.G.'s rhyme could now apply to his childhood home.

The Brooklyn rapper once called his former apartment a "one-room shack." It is now on the market for $4,000 a month, according to the New York Post.

The apartment, located on the third floor of 226 St. James Place, is now listed on real estate website Compass as a renovated three-bedroom apartment.

“It’s a beautiful home and a fantastic neighborhood, filled with little shops and great transportation,”  Compass broker Fabienne Lecole told the Post. “The apartment is iconic, … a historical gem.”

When Biggie, whose real name is Christopher Wallace, lived in the Clinton Hill neighborhood, it was considered an area plagued with drugs and violence. The tide has turned and it has become one of New York City's most desirable neighborhoods.

“It’s so calm and residential now,” Lecole said. “It’s hard to imagine it’s the same street that he sang about with all the drugs and gunfire. It couldn’t be more different.”

The person who is renting the apartment bought it back in 2013 for $825,000.

Earlier this month, local officials renamed the intersection of St. James Place and Fulton Street to "Christopher Wallace Way," in honor of the artist who was killed in Los Angeles in 1997.
