NORWICH, Conn. - A 17-year-old dog missing for five years has been reunited with her family.
The Norwich Bulletin in Connecticut reported the dachshund, named Lady, was found in a parking lot in a city park by an animal control officer.
A microchip found Lady’s owners, Rick and Michelle Riendeau, who live about 20 miles from Norwich.
Lady, with most of her sight and hearing gone, was reunited with her family on Monday.
Rick Riendeau told the Bulletin he called animal control when Lady first went missing, and since they live near a wooded area, he feared she had wandered off or been killed by a predator.
Riendeau said Lady joined the family in 2001, calling her the “greatest dog we’ve ever had.”
