1 killed, 1 hurt after being trapped in smoke-filled home on West Side

Arson investigators called in

SAN ANTONIO – A man was killed in a West Side fire Friday night. 

According to the San Antonio Fire Department, the home in the 1700 block of Madrid Street was filled with smoke, and two people were trapped inside.

Firefighters pulled a woman out of the home through a window. She was unresponsive when firefighters found her but is now in critical condition at a local hospital.

SAFD said a man was already dead when they found him inside the home. 

Arson investigators have been called to the home to determine the cause of the blaze.
