SAN ANTONIO – An investigation is underway after a 16-year-old was found shot in the back overnight, San Antonio police said Thursday.
The shooting was reported just before midnight on Castroville Road near Madrid, located on the city's West Side.
Police said the victim was found shot near a vehicle with blood on the back seat of the car. Officials said they believe the driver fled the scene. The victim however was uncooperative, police said.
Clerks from a nearby gas station heard the gunshots where the shooting occurred.
The teenager was taken to University Hospital for his injury.
So far, no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
