SAN ANTONIO – A Coon Elementary School first-grader died over the weekend, after his family's car rolled over in East Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deceased is 7-year-old Nathan Anthony Hernandez.

His sister, Jessica Hernandez, who is a second-grader at Coon Elementary, was injured in the crash but is expected to recover.

Hernandez' mother, 27-year-old Yolanda Hernandez, was taken by Air Life to an Odessa hospital. A man, identified by DPS as 35-year-old  Eric Ray Yzquierdo, also died in the crash.

Three-year-old Brianna Cerecerez, who was also in the car, was injured, but also expected to recover.

Administrators at Coon Elementary School were notified of the accident by Hernandez' family.

They sent sealed letters home with students explaining to parents what happened, and provided tips about how parents should inform their children.

Grief counselors will be available at Coon Elementary School on Tuesday for both teachers and students.
