Police nab ITT burglary suspect in act

Police found suspect inside ITT, breaking into vending machine

SAN ANTONIO – A silent alarm alerted police that someone broke into the ITT Technical Institute late Sunday night. Officers arrived to find a man trying to break into a vending machine.

The break-in happened just before 11 p.m. in the 5700 block of Northwest Parkway.

Police said a 31-year-old man used a rock to break a glass door and get inside, but apparently didn't realize he tripped the alarm.

The man apparently cut himself while breaking in and EMS treated him at the scene.

Police arrested the man at gunpoint. He faces charges for burglary of a building with intent to commit theft.

Police said there is surveillance video that shows the suspect at the ITT Institute.
