Woman accused of using friend's credit card

Tara Warner, 26, charged with credit card abuse

It appears a new friendship has come with a price for a woman in Live Oak.

An arrest affidavit shows the woman accused Tara Warner, 26, of stealing her credit card and using it to go shopping.

The affidavit stated the victim reported the crime to Live Oak police last month, telling them that she had met Warner at a night club through a mutual friend.

The friend told police, after leaving the club, she realized she had the victim's purse and other belongings in her car, the affidavit stated.

Knowing that the victim had gone to Warner's home, the friend said she then drove there and left the victim's purse with Warner.

The affidavit stated when the victim asked Warner about her belongings, Warner denied knowing anything about them.

Later, the victim said she discovered someone had been using her credit cards to make buy food and other items, including one purchase at a Target store for more than $125.

Police said they obtained surveillance photos from some of the businesses and were able to identify the woman in the photos as Warner. She was arrested Monday on a charge of credit card abuse.
