SAFD veteran killed in crash
Lt. Richard Olmo was 25-year SAFD vet, paramedic
SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their own, who was killed in a crash in Bandera County Tuesday morning. Lt. Richard Olmo was a paramedic and a 25-year-veteran with SAFD.
State troopers say the accident happened along Highway 16, about three miles south of Pipe Creek around 9 a.m.
Troopers say Olmo was heading north, but lost control of his vehicle and flipped. Troopers tell us he was not wearing his seatbelt, and was ejected from his vehicle.
He was taken to Methodist Hospital in Boerne and was pronounced dead a short time later. Olmo is survived by a wife and two children.
