Motorcyclist killed in crash with tow truck

Police: Victim possibly street racing with other motorcyclist

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist died early Tuesday morning after he rear-ended a wrecker towing a pickup truck on the West Side.

The fatal accident happened around 2:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 90 near Old Highway 90.

Police believe the victim was street racing with another motorcyclist when he slammed into the truck being towed by the wrecker.

He was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The other motorcyclist stopped and was not injured. Police were investigating and have not said if any charges would be filed.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 90 were shut down for a few hours, but reopened just before 5 a.m.
