Flames tear through NE Bexar home

SAN ANTONIO – Fire officials say a home in northeast Bexar County is considered a total loss after a roof fire ignited Tuesday evening.

The fire started around 8 p.m. in the 8700 block of Ridge Moon. Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting through the roof and heavy smoke.

Fire crews were able to put the flames out, but not before the home was destroyed. No one was hurt, but a family pet remained unaccounted for late Tuesday night. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
