Boerne Champion football field vandalized

4 juvenile suspects detained

SAN ANTONIO – Four juvenile suspects were arrested after the football field was vandalized at Samuel Champion High School in Boerne.

Boerne police say someone drove a truck onto the field during the overnight hours Monday morning.

The suspects left large tracks on the field, broke a lock on a gate and possibly damaged the irrigation system.

Police said surveillance video showed a white truck leaving the school at the time. Lt. Steve Perez of the Boerne Police Department says one of their officers then recognized the truck Tuesday afternoon and made a traffic stop.

Four juvenile males were detained and could face criminal trespass and criminal mischief charges. Perez estimated the damage would be in excess of $1,500.
