Man accused of having sex with teen he met online

Police: Antonio Valdez, 20, volunteered information about crime

SAN ANTONIO – Police said a suspect in a child sexual assault case gave them all the information they needed to arrest him.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that Antonio Valdez, 20, walked into police headquarters with a 13-year-old girl Saturday and told detectives he wanted "to clear things up."

Police said Valdez told detectives he had met the teen, who lived in Oregon, on an internet site several months ago.

The girl and her mother relocated to San Antonio earlier this month, the affidavit stated.

Valdez told detectives he and the teen immediately began a sexual relationship, and that they had exchanged nude pictures of themselves, the affidavit stated.

He also told detectives that he knew the girl was only 13-years-old, the affidavit stated.

Police obtained an arrest warrant and took Valdez into custody Tuesday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was booked into the Bexar County jail with bond set at $75,000.
