2 men wanted in woman's assault, robbery

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are asking for the public's help in identifying one of two men who they said assaulted a woman and stole her purse.

Police said around 3:30 a.m. on July 3, the woman was walking to her home in the 100 block of Englewood when two men approached her and began threatening her.

She told police one of the men grabbed her right arm, punched her in the face and threw her to the ground. She said one of the men then snatched her purse off her arm then fled in a black SUV.

Police said they captured one of the men who they believe was involved in the assault and robbery on surveillance footage. A picture of that man is shown above.

Both suspects are described as being black males, between 20 and 25 years old.

One was about 5 feet 9 inches tall, and wearing a gay long-sleeved shirt. The other was described as being about 6 feet tall and was wearing a black shirt with a white stripe around the middle and khaki pants.

Anyone with any information on the identity or the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP.
