Second arrest made in NE side car lot shootings

Donderick Walker, 22, charged with capital murder

SAN ANTONIO – A second man has been arrested and charged with capital murder in the fatal shootings of two people at a Northeast Side car lot, and the wounding of a third man.

Donderick Walker, 22, was booked into the Bexar County jail Monday with bond set at $500,000.

The shootings happened July 10 outside King's Used Cars in the 5300 block of N. Foster Road.

Larry Williams, 21, and Stephan McGowan, 27, were shot dead outside the business, which was owned by McGowan.

Alvin Mathis, McGowan's grandfather, was shot and wounded, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Bexar County sheriff's detectives said they questioned several witnesses who told them there were two suspects.

Investigators said the descriptions of the suspects and their getaway car led them to Walker and his brother, Doran.

Police in Louisiana arrested Doran Walker about a week after the shootings, the affidavit stated.

Local investigators said he later confessed to them that he was the trigger man in the shootings, the affidavit stated.

Investigators believe Donderick Walker was upset with the two men who were killed about a break-in at his home in which drugs were taken, the affidavit stated.
