2 injured in shooting on NE Side

Shooting occurs just after noon in 4800 block of Ray Bon Drive

SAN ANTONIO – Two people were wounded in a shooting Wednesday afternoon on the city's Northeast Side.

San Antonio police said a teenager and a man in his 20s were shot in the leg just after noon in the 4800 block of Ray Bon Drive near the intersection of Village Way and Ray Bon.

The victims were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A neighbor, who asked not be identified, said she heard what sounded like five or six gunshots. She said she looked out along the street and saw two men.

"One's standing up wearing a blue shirt," the woman said. "He started limping (and) chasing another man wearing a red and white polo shirt."

Police said both men had been shot in the leg.

Several people are being questioned by police, but no arrests have been made.

"We are talking to people but no confirmed suspect at this time," said San Antonio police Sgt. Marcial Luevano.

As a precaution, White Middle School and Roosevelt High School initiated a lockdown, but that was later lifted.
