Arik Modisette, Jerrid Fullerton accused of shoplifting

SAN ANTONIO – Arik Modisette, 24, and Jerrid Fullerton, 30, are accused of stealing from local businesses by stuffing items into their pants.

They're actually charged in separate cases, but San Antonio police said both arrests were with the help of some alert eyes.

Jerrid Fullerton was caught on camera at several HEB stores in September, stuffing cosmetics down his pants and trying to leave the businesses, an arrest warrant affidavit stated.

A loss prevention officer told detectives he recognized Fullerton from previous thefts.  Police have linked Fullerton to three cases so far, the affidavit states.

A loss prevention officer at Target on SE Military told police he recognized Arik Modisette right away as someone who had stolen from the business in the past.

Police responded to the store Oct. 6, and found the loss prevention officer suffering from bruises, the affidavit stated.

The officer told police he had observed Modisette stuffing DVDs down his pants and tried to stop him, but Modisette put up a fight.

The security officer said he was punched in the mouth and knocked to the ground during the scuffle.

Although Modisette ran from the scene, a female companion remained behind and gave police his information, the affidavit states.
