DPS seeking help in hit-and-run death
Samantha Garza, 18, killed in hit and run early Sunday morning.
SAN ANTONIO – The family of an 18-year-old San Antonian killed in a hit-and-run Sunday pleaded for help Monday as the Department of Public Safety continues to investigate.
Samantha Garza, 18, was walking back to a Halloween party around 4 a.m. Sunday morning when she was struck by a car headed south on FM 476, a few miles south of Somerset.
DPS said the car is believed to be a Pontiac G6, with a model year between 2005 and 2010.
Troopers were not able to provide a color, but said the car will have major front-end damage.
"She was at a party, so somebody somewhere has to know something," said Christy Serenil, Garza's older sister. "If you know who did this, please come forward and help our family."
DPS said they have interviewed several witnesses so far.
If you know anything about this crime, call the Atascosa County Sheriff's Office at 830-769-3434.
