Cyber Monday deals not enough to lure SA shoppers

Many think deals are out there year-round

SAN ANTONIO – Holiday shoppers are spending big this year, and retailers are hoping that will continue through Cyber Monday.

Just like the Black Friday sales that really started on Thursday this year, some Cyber Monday sales had a head start, too.

"I went to the store itself. My sister did the online thing. It was just easier for her, she says, instead of going through all the hassle of getting in a line for two hours and stuff," Rosemary Garza said.

Garza said her sister shopped Black Friday deals online.

Edgar Ramos said he always has technology at his fingertips, so online shopping isn't something he saves for one day of the year.

"You can always find good deals on Overstock or Amazon," he said. "I guess they just dedicate that day, but you can always find good deals throughout the year."

He said he buys what he needs when he needs it.

Others say Cyber Monday can live up to the hype, depending on what they're buying.

"Some stores (will) have stuff that you can't find online, and then some places online (will) have stuff that you can't find in stores, so it really just depends. It depends on what you're looking for," Husayn Muhammad, said.

He was looking for a new memory card, but said even though he has seen deep discounts, he'll have to hold off.

"Just a lack of money right now. Money's tight unfortunately," Muhammad said.
