Reymundo Aguirre charged in theft of band instruments

Police used online pawn records to track down Reymundo Aguirre

SAN ANTONIO – Reymundo Aguirre, 53, is facing a charge of theft for allegedly pawning a local musician's stolen instruments.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that the victim filed a police report on Nov. 3, claiming that someone had stolen his guitar, amp and guitar foot pedals from the stage area of a downtown bar called Moses Roses Hideout.

Detectives said they searched an online database and found that Aguirre had sold the stolen equipment at two different pawnshops.

According to the affidavit, police said they were able to get the serial numbers and pictures of the stolen instrument from the owner. Aguirre was arrested Monday.
