Car theft suspects lead police on a late night chase

Police say suspects jumped from a moving car and ran

SAN ANTONIO – A stolen car chase ended with suspects jumping from a moving car and police arresting one of the men.

Officers say that chase began just before 11 p.m. Friday night when a patrolman saw the suspects running a stop sign.

He tried to pull the car over but the men drove away with police in pursuit.

That pursuit continued until the car reached a dead end at Rivas and N. Trinity.

Both the driver and the passenger jumped out of the moving car and took off on foot.  The car continued and crashed into a guardrail.

Officers chased down the passenger.  He was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant and evading on foot.

The driver of the car got away.

Police say a check on that car shows it was stolen from a car rental company.
