SAN ANTONIO – Two rooms were damaged by fire at Kirby Middle School Wednesday evening.
Judson ISD spokesman Steve Linscomb said school custodial staff spotted the fire around 5:30 p.m.
"Fire investigators say the fire was confined to one classroom in the science wing and an adjoining custodial room," Linscomb said. "The primary damage was from smoke, but smoke did affect the rest of the wing and the band area."
No students or staff were on the campus at the time.
The school's principal will move the students from that wing and the band area until the damage has been cleaned up. Investigators are trying to determine what started the fire.
