According to police, the suspects have tried to break into ATMs at three RBFCU locations at least five times from Sept. 23 to Nov. 27.

The attempts occurred at 6475 Baywater Dr., 10567 Culebra Rd., and 5611 UTSA Blvd.  On Nov. 26, two suspected thieves disabled a surveillance camera and used a blow torch to try to break into an ATM at the Baywater branch.

Police said the suspects appear to use different techniques to defeat the machines, and though they have been unsuccessful in each case, they have caused a large amount of property damage.

Crime Stoppers urges anyone with information about these crimes to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at (210) 224-STOP.  Callers may remain anonymous.
