6 rescued from SUV after high speed crash near I-35 and North Pine Street

Witnesses say driver of Lincoln was going 100 miles per hour


SAN ANTONIO – Three people were hospitalized after a car slammed into an SUV north of downtown.

The accident was reported around 8:30 p.m. Thursday near Interstate 35 and North Pine Street.

Police say the driver of a Lincoln exited at North New Braunfels Avenue and T-boned the SUV, which was carrying five adults and a child.

Two adults were transported to the hospital, one for a leg injury and the other for an eye injury.

The driver of the Lincoln was taken to the hospital and was expected to recover.

Police did not say what charges if any would be filed, but witnesses say the driver of the Lincoln was traveling at speeds close to 100 miles per hour.
