Police catch up with robbery suspects posing as officers at Rodeway Inn

Investigators seize fake badges, guns, stolen property at motel on WW White

SAN ANTONIO – Two men accused of posing as police officers and robbing people are now in custody after San Antonio police allegedly caught them in the act at a motel on WW White Road.

According to police, officers received a tip shortly after 2 a.m. Monday about a robbery in progress at the Rodeway Inn on N. WW White Road.

Officers who happened to be nearby rushed over and arrested one suspect right away, police said.

A second suspect ran from the scene, but officers later received information regarding his whereabouts and arrested him, police said.

They also recovered a gun, fake badges, an assortment of stolen property and the suspects' vehicle—a silver Nissan, police said.

Investigators said they believe the two suspects are also responsible for several other recent robberies.

Among them is a robbery earlier this month near Rittiman Road and Interstate 35, police said.

That earlier case also involved robbers who were posing as officers and driving a silver Nissan.

It's still unclear exactly what charges the suspects will be facing. Their names were not released immediately.
