Girl, 13, stabs stepdad over cell phone

San Antonio police: Stepdad did not allow girl to use cell phone, stabbed multiple times in back

A man was stabbed multiple times by his 13-year-old stepdaughter after an argument over a cell phone Monday afternoon, San Antonio police said.

Investigators said the 47-year-old victim would not let the girl use the phone so she stabbed him in the back several times outside an apartment complex in the 2800 block of Observation Drive on the West Side.

The stepfather got away and managed to call for an ambulance at a nearby store.

Police said he was taken to University Hospital in critical but stable condition.

The girl was arrested and would be charged in the stabbing, San Antonio police said.
