Hundreds wed at Valentine's Day ceremony at Bexar County Courthouse

Valentine's Day couples say 'I Do' at Bexar County Courthouse at midnight

Hundreds of couples gathered in downtown San Antonio at midnight to take part in the traditional Valentine's Day wedding ceremony on the steps of the Bexar County Courthouse.

Rev. Joe Sullivan presided over Thursday morning's ceremony as close to 200 couples tied the knot. It was the 25th Valentine's Day ceremony Sullivan has presided over.

Many couples said the event is a great start to their new lives together. "It's special for us, we've been together 5 years and we're happy. Cant' be a better night. It's a good night," said Julian Zamora, who married Priscilla Zamora.

The ceremony is free as long as couples obtain a marriage license. Other ceremonies are scheduled for 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
