San Antonio police seek suspects in Auto Zone robbery on Marbach Road

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to arrest

San Antonio police have requested help from the public, as they try to track down two suspects wanted in connection with the robbery of an Auto Zone.

According to police, the robbery took place at 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the Auto Zone located at 7547 Marbach Road.

An employee at the store told police he noticed a car parked in position for a quick getaway, when two men in their late 20s walked into the store.

The employee said he became suspicious when one of the men began asking about a battery that didn't exist. He said the man grabbed some batteries from a shelf and ran out of the store.

At that point, he said the other man picked up some batteries and when the employee tried to stop him, the man threatened him with a screwdriver.

The employee said he feared for his life and stepped out of the way.  The man with the screwdriver walked out of the store with the batteries, got into the car parked outside, and drove away.

Police said the car, a white 1990 Lexus LS400, was registered to an address in Austin.
