What's happening this weekend

It's the week before Easter and there are plenty of events for the kids this weekend.

12,000 eggs are up for grabs at the KSLR Easter Eggstravaganza.  It's at Morgan's Wonderland, Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.  The free family event features an egg hunt with eggs filled with treats and even some special prizes.  Kids aged 12 and under can participate in the egg hunt.

Another Easter egg hung at University of the Incarnate Word.  This one is also on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Kids will even have a chance to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.  It takes place at the UIW soccer fields.

And for the music fans, there are two festivals happening Saturday night.  One is the Maverick Music Festival at the Arneson River Theater.  90's grunge rockers, Toadies, will headline the festival.  Click here for tickets.

The other show is over at the Hotel Havana.  It's the 1st annual Musica en la Calle, Saturday at 6 p.m. in the hotel's parking lot.  The event features Latin jazz, mambo, salsa music and food vendors.  Click here for a list of bands and performers.

On Sunday only, the Broadway hit, Monty Python's Spamalot, comes to the Alamo City.  It's the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Roundtable on a quest for the holy grail, all told through hilarious song and dance.  There are two performances at the Majestic Theatre on Sunday, one at 2:00 p.m. and the other at 7:00 p.m.  Click here for tickets.
