WHY ARE YOU RUNNING FOR CITY COUNCIL? I have a desire to serve the people of district two. I want to make the district a better place for the neighborhoods and become more involved with the communities.
HAVE YOU RUN FOR CITY COUNCIL BEFORE? No, I have not ran for city council before.
WHAT PREVIOUS LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE? I was secretary in the Classics Club while I attended UTSA and I have sold merchandise online and at market centers in relation to my small business.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH IF ELECTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL? I want to provide better communication and constituent services to the district.
WHAT ARE THE MOST DIFFICULT CHALLENGES FACING THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO? Fiscal responsibility and transportation.
WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST OBSTACLES FACING ECONOMIC GROWTH IN SAN ANTONIO? Poverty, crime, and a lack of youthful participation in government and community.
WHAT CAN THE CITY COUNCIL DO TO HELP SPUR ECONOMIC GROWTH? Spend money wisely, promote job training, revitalize boarded structures.
ARE THERE ANY DECISIONS THE CURRENT CITY COUNCIL HAS MADE THAT YOU STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH? PLEASE LIMIT ANSWERS TO 3 ITEMS.
1) Street Car project
2) Funding private theater projects
3) Nexolon corporation tax subsidy
WHAT ITEMS/PROGRAMS WOULD YOU CUT FROM THE CURRENT CITY BUDGET? The fiscally irresponsible bonds. I do not care for bonds that only favor certain parts of the city and do not do anything for district two. I am concerned about money that is spent on pet-projects and not spent on police, fire, water, street repair, etc.
DID YOU VOTE IN FAVOR OF OR AGAINST THE NEW PRE-K 4 S.A. PROGRAM? WHY? I voted against it because I had concerns as to whether it actually helps improve children's education, such as test scores and college enrollment.
WHAT MORE SHOULD THE CITY DO TO LOWER GANG ACTIVITY AND CRIME IN SAN ANTONIO? Promote Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) within neighborhoods to maintain communication with police when crime occurs. See what can be done to better educate the youth and get them more involved in community, family, and church to produce better citizens within our city.
ARE THERE ANY MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE CITY UNDERTAKE? Remodel boarded structures and fix roads in bad shape throughout district two.
