She slammed on her breaks because of traffic on the highway and lost control, flipping her SUV.

Two other people were hurt in the crash.

"It appears that the driver was trying to avoid a dropped object in the road," said San Antonio police Sgt. Steve Priore. "(She) took evasive action to try to avoid this object. (Her) vehicle went off the road, ended up tumbling (and) one of the passengers fell from the car."

An off-duty officer behind them saw what happened and stopped to help.

Gonzales was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passengers were not seriously injured.

The eastbound lanes of 151 were completely shut down Tuesday morning and traffic was reduced to one lane on the westbound side.
