Fire causes damage at Adams Elementary on East Southcross Boulevard

SAN ANTONIO – A elementary school playground on the South Side was set on fire Monday night and investigators believe two middle school students are to blame.

Fire officials responded to the fire just before 9 p.m. at Adams Elementary School on East Southcross and Pleasanton Road.

Officials said the fire spread to the Pre-K playground and caused an estimated $75,000 in damages. 

Arson investigators responded to the scene and believe two middle-school aged students set the playground on fire.

School officials said they plan to prosecute the suspects. Adams Elementary is part of the Harlandale ISD.
