San Antonio police: Teen shot during iPad robbery

Victim suffered gunshot wound to foot

SAN ANTONIO – A teenager is nursing a gunshot wound in his foot that he told San Antonio police he suffered at the hands of robbers who wanted his iPad.

Police received a call about the shooting around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday and found the boy, believed to be about 13 or 14-years-old, at a home in the 400 block of Arthur Street.

They said he had suffered a gunshot wound that went clear through his foot, with the bullet entering through the bottom and exiting through the top.

Officers at the scene said the teen told them the men who shot him had demanded he hand over his iPad.

He told police that after he gave the electronic device to them, they fired several shots, one of which hit him in the foot as he ran away.

The boy was taken to a hospital for treatment. Officers did not release a description of the robbers and said the case would require further investigation.
