SAN ANTONIO – A woman who was struck by a vehicle in far east San Antonio died at the hospital late Thursday night.
A spokesman for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office identified her as 72-year-old Irene Martinez.

Deputies believe the woman was walking down the road with another woman in the 8900 block of Weichold Road when she was struck by a sports utility vehicle just before 10 p.m.
The woman driving the SUV has not been charged, but deputies are still investigating the accident.
