BOERNE, Texas – A father and son with Window World of San Antonio are teaming up to help build a home for charity just outside Boerne.
The duo is part of the construction project for the St. Jude's Children's Dream Home.
The organization builds a home in cities all over the world to help raise money for children's cancer research.
"We feel very close to that organization. They do wonderful things -- not only for children -- but also for cancer ... research," said Martin Bomba, president of Window World of San Antonio.
Bomba is working side-by-side with his son, Dillon.
"It gives our kids a sense of charitable work in the community," Bomba said.
Bomba's company is supplying the windows for the home.
But the charity is more than just a building project, since the Bomba family has been touched by cancer.
Martin's brother-in-law -- Dillon's uncle -- died of cancer a couple of years ago.
"That was hard for me (because) I was really close to him, " said Dillon. "I can come out here and work for this. It's like I can work for him and I can help people who have family members who have cancer."
When the four-bed/four-bath, two-story home is complete, they will raffle off the home.
The tickets are sold for $100 and can be purchased at www.stjude.org.
The winner gets the home; the St Jude's Children's Research Hospital gets the funds.
