"It was scary how we were in the house, it was normal, and then we look out the windows and all of a sudden there was cops cars up and down the street," said neighbor Carlton Graves.

Some people were even evacuated. "(I was) Scared because my bedroom is on that side. I had all my kids and their friends in the living room," said next door neighbor Vanesia Leblanc.

After about four hours, the SWAT team showed up and along with negotiators convinced the man to give himself up.

"Negotiators were on the line with this individual and he came out on his own without any type of violence. It was very peaceful," said San Antonio police officer Roger Zuniga.

Police said the man will not be charged. He will be taken to a medical detention center for evaluation.
