Man who died in high-speed crash with wall identified
Victim identified as 24-year-old Frank Vasquez
SAN ANTONIO – A man who died after a high-speed collision near downtown San Antonio has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police say 24-year old Frank Vasquez was speeding early Sunday morning on Interstate 35 at North New Braunfels Avenue when he lost control and hit a retaining wall.
Vasquez and another man were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center and Vasquez was pronounced dead a short time later. At last check, the other man was in critical condition.
Debris from the crash forced crews to close the interstate for hours.
Investigators are trying to figure out whether the two men were involved in an earlier road rage incident and whether alcohol was involved.
