Man stabbed trying to break up couple's fight

Victim stabbed in west San Antonio while trying to break up fight between couple

SAN ANTONIO – A man was injured after San Antonio police say he tried to intervene in a fight between a couple early Tuesday morning.

The stabbing happened Tuesday around 4 a.m. at the Westwood Plaza Apartments in the 2600 block of Westwood on the West Side.

According to police, the victim was an upstairs neighbor who was called upon by the suspect's girlfriend to intervene. 

He confronted the woman's boyfriend and was stabbed in the chest. The boyfriend then fled the scene and had not been arrested as of 7 a.m.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His condition was unknown, but police said he was conscious upon their arrival.
