Church burglarized on West side

Pastor believes thieves may have been familiar with church

SAN ANTONIO – Police are searching for suspects after the First Christian Church on San Antonio's West side was burglarized late Friday night.

Thieves rummaged through file cabinets and offices. Computers, musical instruments, an audio system and a freezer, were all taken.

Pastor Yoan Mora said the thieves used ladders to climb through the windows. He believes it may have been someone familiar with the church.

"That's the interesting thing because the people that came they knew everything," said Pastor Mora. "They knew where we stored the ladders, the tools, they knew where the phone system cables [were], they knew where the breakers were."

A police report has been filed and police are requesting surveillance video from a business across the street.

Church is expected to go on as usual Sunday morning.
