Jessie Hernandez Jr. charged with aggravated assault on public servant

Jessie Hernandez Jr. was charged with aggravated assault on a public servant after police said he shot two Selma police officers.

SAN ANTONIO – A man accused of shooting two Selma police officers last week was a former officer for the Corpus Christi Police Department.

KRIS-TV reports Jessie Hernandez Jr. worked for CCPD and was terminated nearly five years ago for misconduct.

The report also said Hernandez was placed on administrative leave in 2007 after shooting two suspects who rammed his patrol car.

Hernandez is accused of shooting the Selma officers last Thursday as they responded to a disturbance at a home in the 9000 block of Pinseeker.

Both officers fired back and shot Hernandez. All three were rushed to the hospital and expected to recover. Hernandez was booked into the Bexar County Jail and charged with aggravated assault on a public servant.
