SAN ANTONIO – Wednesday was the last day of the Valor Games Southwest at Sea World.

It was a huge success, event organizers said, with about 90 participants over the three-day event.

This is the first time they have been held in San Antonio.

The games are designed to introduce wounded military veterans to Paralympic sports.

Competitive events included air guns, wheelchair basketball, archery, and kayaking.

"It's a great opportunity for (wounded warriors)," said Valor Games Southwest Director Ross Davis. "A lot of times, if you have a disability, you don't get a chance to experience things like kayaking. (The Valor Games) gives them an opportunity to try something and compete."

The games were started in 2010 in Chicago and have expanded to four cities, including San Antonio.
