Jonathan Moya, 18, faces a charge of injury to child after he was accused of manhandling his 18-month-old son and slapping the baby for being fussy.

SAN ANTONIO – A teenage father is accused of manhandling his 18-month-old son and slapping the baby for being fussy. Jonathan Moya, 18, faces a charge of injury to child.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that the baby's mother told San Antonio police she went to work Friday and left the baby with Moya, his biological father.

She said Moya later called her at work, telling her the baby had been hurt in fall from his crib, the affidavit stated.

EMS workers who examined the child, however, found bruises on both sides of his face.  

Police said during an interview with detectives, Moya eventually admitted to slapping the child repeatedly, almost to the point where the baby blacked out, the affidavit stated.

Moya said he was frustrated with the child for being fussy, the affidavit stated. He was booked into the Bexar County Jail Saturday.
