Mom who became unresponsive giving birth makes amazing recovery

A woman who became unresponsive during birth has made an amazing recovery.

A year ago, Michelle Moon gave birth to a baby girl named Piper at North Central Baptist Hospital, but the labor was far from normal.

Michelle became unresponsive and the staff performed an emergency cesarean section because her status was affecting her baby.

Doctors then discovered Michelle had an Amniotic Fluid Embolism, a condition most patients do not survive.

"I'm finally back. I would say 99.9 percent, which is amazing," Moon said. "A year ago, if you had told me that I would be where I am today, I would not have believed it. "I'm planning a fundraiser for an AFE. I'm definitely blessed and it was definitely due to the angels here on the staff."

Michelle says her daughter Piper is a happy, healthy baby who celebrated her first birthday on Monday.
