Trio terrorizes couple inside apartment

3 suspects sought in home invasion, beating in south San Antonio

Three men barged into a South Side apartment early Thursday morning and beat the tenant before stealing some items including cash, San Antonio police said.

The home invasion occurred just after 3 a.m. at the Starlight Park Apartments in the 300 block of Ware Boulevard between South Flores and Pleasanton Road.

Police said the 18-year-old victim and his girlfriend were inside the apartment when the suspects began to bang on the door and call for the man to come outside.

The suspects kicked in the front door and grabbed an Xbox gaming system and a backpack filled with a large amount of cash.

The suspects were about to leave when one man attempted to also steal the television. The victim tackled the suspect and the other two men began to beat him.

A gun was fired during the struggle, but no one was hit, police said. The victim was taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim's girlfriend was not injured and escaped out of a back window during the ordeal. Police said victim claimed he did not know the suspects. The suspects fled in a maroon SUV in an unknown direction.
