Family members arrested in neighbor's burglary

Woman, her grandson, his wife all arrested after relative tells neighbor

Two generations of suspected criminals have been arrested in connection with the burglary of their neighbor.

San Antonio police say the grandmother, 51-year-old Joann Ortiz, was the mastermind behind the whole thing.

They say she told her grandson, 21-year-old Bobby Lopez, and his 27-year-old wife, Jessica, exactly when to strike.

Police say they targeted Ortiz's neighbor, who lives in the other half of a duplex in the 900 block of Donaldson.

That was last month.

A couple of days after the burglary, police say another relative of the suspects blew the whistle, telling the victim they were involved.

Police say they also found out that the Lopezes had pawned two guitars stolen during the burglary.

All three family members were arrested on Monday.

The arrest affidavit also mentions a friend who was involved, but that person has not yet been arrested.
