Feds, police raid several Houston nightspots

FBI: Authorities executing search warrants throughout Houston

The FBI says multiple government and law enforcement agencies executed search warrants Thursday evening at several locations around Houston.

Shauna Dunlap with the FBI told KPRC-TV Houston the agency along with the Department of Homeland Security, Texas Department of Public Safety, IRS and Houston Police Department are involved with the search warrants.

Neighbors say the raids started around 5:30 p.m. A man shot a video at one location  and said 12 people were taken into custody there.

The witness said four or five of the people taken in appeared to be underaged girls wearing plastic handcuffs. The signs on the building read, "Nuevo Amancer", Spanish for "New Dawn."

Dunlap says the reasons for the warrants were still under court seal Thursday night and would remain secret until suspects make their initial court appearances Friday before a federal magistrate in Houston.
