Rockport beating suspect could be in San Antonio

2 male victims nearly beaten to death

SAN ANTONIO – Rockport police are searching for a suspect in a brutal double beating that left both victims in critical condition. The suspect, 32-year-old David Anthony White, may be on the loose in San Antonio.

Police identified White through surveillance video from a gas station where he may have met the victims, who are 72- and 56-year-old men.

He reportedly was invited to their Rockport home Tuesday night where he allegedly beat them both before leaving. A burglar alarm at the victims' home alerted police.

"The suspect in this case was in the residence and knew the victims," said Commander David Cory of the Rockport Police Department, "and that's why the alarm was activated when the suspect left the residence."

Witnesses told police that White mentioned he may have been heading back to San Antonio. Police described White as just over 6-feet tall with tattoos along both of his arms, and he's considered extremely dangerous.

Both victims are in critical condition at a Corpus Christi hospital and White currently faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Charges of assaulting the elderly and disabled, both first-degree felonies, could be added.

Rockport police ask anyone in San Antonio who may have seen White to call SAPD at 207-7273.
