VIA bus struck by car

Man tells police his brakes failed

A VIA bus was struck by a car around 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday in the 8400 block of Culebra, near Grissom Pass.

No one on board the bus was injured, but police said the elderly driver of the car that struck the bus was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.

The driver told police his brakes weren't working when he ran a stoplight and crashed into the side of the bus.

Eight people, including the driver, were on the bus when it was struck, but none were injured.

VIA sent another bus to pick up the passengers.
